The Escuadrilla de Aviones depends from the Cuerpo Federal de Aviación (CFA) and is charged with the operation of all of the winged aircraft of the institution with the exception of those assigned to the Escuela Federal de Aviación Policial. It was created on August 13, 1971 when the institution bought the single FAMA/FMA I.A.50 Guaraní II and operated it from the Base Aérea Militar El Palomar where the Air Force had transferred part of its installations. This unit operated from those installations until 1995 when it started using the installation of the private company RACA in San Fernando. Currently this is rather limited to the operation of the single Cessna 500 Citation I used for VIP transport duties.
