Two former Aerolíneas Argentinas Douglas C-47 Dakotas, LV-ADG, (C/N 33430), and LQ-ACW, (C/N 12057), were bought to replace the old de Havilland 104 Doves in service with the Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA) and became PM-15 and PM-16 respectively.
PM-15, (C/N 33430), was a Douglas C-47B-35-DK Skytrain model that started its life in June 1945 as KP216, (44-77098), for the RAF. Then it went to Canadair as CF-DXT, then to Aerolíneas Argentinas as LV-ADG, hit a truck when it was landing in Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz, but the plane made a goaround and went to Comodoro Rivadavia, with an engine on fire. Reregistered as LQ-ADG and assigned to the Aeronaútica de la Provincia de Formosa. Next, the plane was bought in 1962 to replace the old de Havilland 104 Doves in service with the Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA) and became PM-15 for the Servicio de Aviación (SEAV). In September 1964, PM-15 did participate of the search efforts to find the merchant Patagonia lost in front of Río Grande do Sul, Brazil, during heavy seas. At some point of time it was written off during an unspecified accident.
PM-16, (C/N 12057), was a Douglas C-47A-1-DK Skytrain model and seems to have had a quiet life ending up being transferred at some point to the Dirección Provincial de Aeronáutica of Formosa, where it was known as Ciudad de Clorinda .
Both would eventually be replaced by the Shorts CS-7 Skyvan in 1971.
