The rotary wing elements of the Servicio de Aviación conform the Escuadrilla de Alas Rotativas (EAR) based at Puerto Nuevo, at the heliport located directly inside the port, Dársena F exactly, and named B.A. Oficial Principal Balestra. There are some exceptions to this rule, and, for example, the sole Eurocopter SA-330L Puma, PA-13, operates normally from the Aeropuerto Internacional "Bartolomé de la Colina" of Mar del Plata, Provicia de Buenos Aires.

The missions of this unit are; SAR, medevac, special operations, forestal fire fighting and community support. Currently the aircraft in use are the single Eurocopter SA-330L Puma (PA-13) and Eurocopter AS-365N Dauphin (PA-40 to PA-43). From time to time these aircraft are detached to one of the four Estaciones Aéreas.
