Three Aero Commander 500S Shrike Commander served with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. The first to enter service in 1976 was C6-BDF, but at that time it was still using its U.S.A. civilian registration (N59NP). This aircraft was being leased from an U.S.A. based owner and was never really owned. The two other also were leased (N49NP & N29NP) and in the end all three were given back to their owner in January 1990. They all have been withdrawn from use and sold to civilian operators.
