The system provides 190 mile (maximum) avoidance range capability with 12 inch antenna and operates on a frequency of 9,345 MHz (X-band) with a nominal peak of 1 kW. Also, the system can be used, day or night, for ground mapping which permits displaying prominent topographical features in addition to primary weather mapping purpose. The indicator can be expanded to display multifunction digital data such as navigation and radio navigation information, flight log information, and several pages of checklist information.
