Litton AN/APS-128D

This is an all-digital radar dedicated to sea surveillance fitted to a variety of fixed wing MPAs with different radome and antenna shapes and sizes. The main market are Coast Guard like organisations around the globe. The information is presented in television raster format for easier recording for legal purposes. It can enhance the target and has the clutter reduction circuits for frequency agility. Up to 30 targets can be tracked in a track-while-scan mode. It has also been integrated with Air-Sea missiles.

This is a search radar which can detect a snorkel up to 54 Km of range with sea state 3, a trawler at up to 111 Km with sea state 5, a freighter at up to 185 Km with sea state 5 and a tanker at up to 222 Km with sea state 5. It also has a weather radar function with a range of 370 km in that mode. Typically used in E-9A, Do 228MP, CASA C-212MP and EMBRAER EMB-111 Bandeirante.

The AN/APS-128D is in current use by the Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA) and by the Armada República de Venezuela (ARV) in their CASA C-212MP, as well as by the Armada de Chile (ACh) and by the Brazilian Air Force in their EMBRAER EMB-111 Bandeirante. This system is no longer in production and it is being replaced by the much upgraded APS-143B (V) 3 OceanEye radar.
